No need to worry about E-Coli
Several children’s farms which are open to the public have been linked to E-Coli outbreaks and we understand that those due to visit Dodford may be concerned.
E-Coli is most commonly associated with eating contaminated food but can also be contracted from contact with the faeces of infected animals, particularly cattle.
At Dodford Children’s Holiday Farm we do not have any cows and although goats and sheep can also transmit the bacteria, ours are not allowed to roam freely around the farm so contact with them can be avoided. Our animals are also kept in very clean conditions and we have facilities for keeping hands clean if children do feed the animals. As always, good hygiene standards are the key to preventing any problems.
